My dear mother passed on unexpectedly 5 1/2 years ago. I went with my stepfather to make funeral arrangements, and when I came across this poem in the book of poems the funeral home had to choose from, I knew instantly this was the perfect one for precious mother's card. It says:
"Two dear bright eyes, a tender smile,
A loving heart that knew no guile,
Deep trust in God that all was right,
Her joy to make some other bright,
If sick and suffering one she knew,
Some gentle act of love she'd do;
No thought of self, but of "the other";
I know He said, "Well done, dear mother."
It still makes me tear up when I re-read it these words this many years later but I know mom is in a better place, and I believe we will be together again one day.
The soft colours of the papers and elements in Ronna Penner's "Afternoon Tea" were the perfect accents for these precious keepsakes.
The album is from Ronna's Vintage Snapshots kit (Scrapadelic)
